Day 1:

Arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport.

On arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, meet your guide for the drive to the Green Mountain lodge located in Arusha, one of the most influential cities in Tanzania. Strategically located at a base overlooking a remarkable view of Mt. Meru. Thus, representing one of Tanzania’s best views right at your doorstep. After settling into your room, take a walk around the garden or relax by the swimming pool.

Day 2:

Arusha to Lake Manyara National Park

After breakfast leaves Arusha and proceeds to Lake Manyara National Park for a day of game viewing an area Hemingway described as, “the loveliest I had seen in Africa”. Lake Manyara National Park is a naturalist’s delight thanks to its diverse environments. Ranging from the underground-water forest and acacia woodlands to grasslands, swamps, marshes, and hot springs, the park is simply packed with wildlife. Over 400 species of bird have been recorded including large flocks of flamingos and migratory water birds. Manyara’s forests ring with the call of monkeys and birds while its acacia woodlands are home to Manyara’s infamous tree-climbing lions and slow-strolling elephants. The park is also home to the largest troops of baboons in Africa, zebra wildebeest, giraffe, hippos, leopard, and impala, and in the late evening drive to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 3:

Karatu to Serengeti National Park

On this, our second day, we set out for the world-renowned Serengeti, home of the Great Migration and one of the seven wonders of Africa. Our drive today is spectacular as we drive up onto the highlands, and the spectacular Ngorongoro Crater. Spread out before us as far as the eye can see is the vast Serengeti, a 6,900 sq. mile park inhabited by more than three million large animals including more than 1.5 million wildebeest, 250,000 zebra, and a 500,000 Thomson’s gazelle. Large predators including lions, cheetahs, and hyenas, are drawn to the area by this abundance of prey. Many smaller animals like rock hyrax, bat-eared fox, mongoose, honey badger, monkey, baboon, and African hare, also here inhabit along with nearly 500 species of birds

After lunch we continue with the game drive en route to the Serengeti Heritage Migration Camp where we dine in comfort, drink by the outdoor fire with hyenas slinking past, and recall our day beneath the endless African sky before finally turning in.

Day 4:

Full day North Serengeti (Mara River)

After an early breakfast, you will head out to make the most of the day. There is a chance you may see the animals crossing the Mara River. Hundreds of thousands of desperate wildebeest gather together on the banks of the river, gazing wistfully across the turbulent water at the green grass on the other side but no animal will make a move. All it takes is one brave wildebeest to take the literal plunge and, then, all follow! The animals that do successfully avoid the awaiting crocodile jaws and make it over the river are rewarded with the lush green grazing grass of the Masai Mara.

Day 5:

Serengeti (North) to Serengeti (Central)

After breakfast, you will return to Seronera with further opportunities to experience the incredible wildlife and natural beauty of the Serengeti.
Apart from the migrating herds, we may have the opportunity to see the resident predators, leopard, cheetah, and lion, fulfilling their role in the circle of life.
After an extensive game drive, we head for our Accommodation for a hearty dinner and another night by the fire of relaxation and conversation under the sweeping majesty of the star-bright African night out upon the ‘Endless Plain’.

Day 6:

Serengeti National Park to Ngorongoro crater.

Today you will wake up early to do an early morning safari before breakfast, spot the animals when they are more active, and have a fantastic sun rise in front of you. The sunrise in the African Savannah is one of the most beautiful experiences one can have. You will then travel to Ngorongoro Crater, inhabited by almost every species of wildlife indigenous to East Africa including the rare black rhino. In fact, the crater has the greatest concentration of wildlife on the planet. It contains a river, several swamps, a soda lake that, from the top, looks like steam, full of flamingos, a forest, and open plains. The large bull elephants that reside here have huge tusks, due to the rich mineral content of the volcanic soil and its grasses. After a full day, you will return to a lodge in Karatu for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 7:

Karatu to Tarangire National Park

After breakfast, you will make a short drive to Tarangire National Park. Tarangire is well known for its large elephant herds. From the open roof of the vehicle, you will experience the seasonal swamps, savanna, and Tarangire River in search of many animals including zebra, wildebeest, buffalo, elephant, and giraffe. You may catch a glimpse of a lion stalking its prey or leopards watching and relaxing in the trees above. After lunch in the park, you will return to Arusha where your safari ends.
