This 6-day, fly-out itinerary takes you on a journey through Tanzania’s unrivalled wildlife destinations – Tarangire National Park, the Ngorongoro Crater and the fabled Serengeti – to deliver a dramatic and diverse big game safari. Begin with the beauty of Tarangire with its landscape doted with baobab trees, and incredible elephants sighting, before moving on to encounter the spectacle of the Ngorongoro Crater floor, home to Africa’s Big 5. The sweeping plains of the Serengeti provide a backdrop for the tour’s grand finale. Game viewing is superb all year round, but if you have timed your safari with the wildebeest migration, you can expect massed herds and plenty of predator action.

Day 1:

Arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport.

On arrival at the Kilimanjaro international airport, meet enticing journeys representatives for the drive to River trees country inn, set in a charming country estate that was once an old coffee farm, and still retains the nostalgic air of a well-loved homestead, elegantly rustic cottages are dotted along the river and in thickets of tall trees, while lush lawns and birdsong make for a peaceful and picturesque setting. Here you will start to understand what is safari all about.

Day 2:

Arusha - Tarangire National Park.

You leave River Trees Inn after breakfast with a picnic lunch packed safely away. The Rift Valley landscape drifts past as your guide heads for Tarangire National Park, the least visited reserve on the itinerary but one capable of delivering fantastic game viewing. Home to Tanzania’s biggest elephant population, Tarangire supports large numbers of buffalo, giraffe, zebra, and many antelope species, most evident during the dry season when concentrations of animals at the life-giving Tarangire River are at their peak June-October. Explore the park’s rich habitats from the life-giving River, a landscape dotted with baobab trees, swamps, and open plains, late in the evening drive to your lodge for dinner, and overnight. Day 3:

Full Day Ngorongoro Crater Tour.

Today you set off towards the Ngorongoro crater for a beautiful game drive. It shelters close to 30.000 animals including the Big Five. The crater teems with zebras, buffaloes, lions, wildebeest, warthogs, baboons, elephants, flamingos, ostriches, hippos, hyenas, and a small population of the rare black rhino. The beautiful colors and dancing clouds make the crater almost surreal.

Because of its natural beauty, the Ngorongoro Crater is chosen as one of Africa’s Seven Natural Wonders. After your picnic lunch, you will return to the lodge and spend the afternoon enjoying the pool at your luxury lodge. Free optional Karatu town market tour can be arranged on request. Dinner and overnight will be at Ngorongoro Neptune Luxury lodge. (all-inclusive)

Day 4:

Serengeti National Park (Central).

After breakfast, you will collect your picnic lunch from the hotel and drive to Serengeti National Park, which has the largest concentration of big games in the world. If you want to spot the Big Five – lion, elephant, leopard, rhino, and buffalo- all in one park, then Serengeti is the best place to do so. The abundance of wildlife in this park is unmatched anywhere else in the world. Depending on which time of the year you visit this park, you can also witness the famous Great Migration. It’s an impressive experience to see all those hoofed mammals, followed by iconic predators, migrate in a clockwise circle every year. Late in the afternoon, you continue to Kubukubu Tented Lodge for dinner and overnight. (all-inclusive)

Day 5:

Fullday Serengeti National Park.

Another day of morning and afternoon game viewing in the Serengeti. With so many wildebeest, gazelles and zebras present it is no wonder the Serengeti is also home to 4,000 lions and 1,000 leopards. Apart from the Big Five, the Serengeti boasts the cheetah, jackal, hyena, serval, buffalo, hippos, elephants, crocodiles, giraffe, baboons, monitor lizard, striped hyena, ostrich, martial eagle, lovebirds, vultures, just to name a few. Enjoy this supreme game viewing and return to Kubukubu Tented Lodge in the evening for dinner and overnight. (all-inclusive)

Day 6:

Fly from Serengeti National Park - Arusha Town

Explore the Serengeti for the last time during a morning game drive with a picnic lunch. You continue your journey to Seronera Airstrip for your flight to Arusha. Upon arrival, you will be transferred to Kilimanjaro international airport for your onward connection
