This 8-day safari itinerary takes you on a journey through Tanzania’s unrivaled wildlife destinations – Lake Manyara, the Ngorongoro Crater, and the fabled Serengeti – to deliver a dramatic wildebeest migration, big cats, and big game safari. Begin with the beauty of Lake Manyara with its thousands of flamingos and famous tree-climbing lions, then to the sweeping plains of the Serengeti provide a backdrop for the tour’s grand finale. Game viewing is superb all year round, and witness the great migration around the Grumet River with 18-20 feet crocodiles on the hunt, you can expect a shoulder-to-shoulder herds and plenty of predator action, before moving on to encounter the spectacle of the Ngorongoro Crater floor, home to Africa’s Big 5.

Day 1:

Arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport.

Welcome to Tanzania, meet your guide for the drive to Arusha Villa. Tucked away in Arusha, Arusha Villa is straddled between the gateway to some of the most enchanting safari destinations. This little paradise comes with all the amenities and access you would expect in modern accommodation right in the wild. After settling into your room, take a walk around the garden or relax on the poolside.

Day 2:

Arusha to Lake Manyara National Park

After a leisurely breakfast, your guide will give you a safari briefing followed by the drive to Lake Manyara National Park, set on the dramatic floor of the Great Rift Valley escarpment. This small park has some amazing sceneries and the biggest diversities of habitats than the big Serengeti national park, underground water forest, acacia woodlands, swamps and marshes, the lake, hillside savannah, open plains, and dry River-beds. Lake Manyara is home to thousands of flamingoes, famous tree-climbing lions, buffaloes, baboons, giraffes, elephants, warthogs, and leopards. Spend your day unlocking the beauty of the park, with amazing game viewing followed by a picnic lunch. Late in the evening drive to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 3:

Karatu to Serengeti (Western Corridor)

You leave the Bougainvillea safari lodge after breakfast with a picnic lunch packed safely and depart this morning for game viewing in the Serengeti, exploring the western reaches of the Serengeti on safari, tracking the great migration and other game and wildlife that this vast area offers. The great migration is on the western side in the months of (June-July), where the drama unfolds with thousands of wildebeest concentrating along the Grumeti River to quench their thirst, these are the time to look for those 18-20 feet crocodiles hunting in the silent waters. The area is also home to elephants, lions, cheetahs, hippos, baboons, topi, hyenas, and a great number of birds have been recorded here, it’s also an area of untamed natural beauty, rolling hills, rivers, forests, and open plains. The camp is set in an area which offers excellent proximity to the river giving you more time to enjoy the migration without hurry.

Day 4:

Full-day Serengeti (Western Corridor)

Rise up early, so that you can depart your lodge for a full day moving with the herds across the plains exploring the Great Migration. An impressive experience to see all those hoofed mammals, followed by predators, migrate in a clockwise circle every year. If you want to spot the Big Five (lion, elephant, leopard, rhino, and buffalo) all in one park, the Serengeti is the place to be. Return back to Mbalagate lodge for dinner and overnight. The views from the lodge over the Serengeti are fantastic.

Day 5:

Serengeti (western) to Serengeti (central)

Two days exploring the central Serengeti
After a mouth-watering breakfast at the lodge, we leave the wildebeest migration behind and proceed to the central part of Serengeti, within these two days, we are going to explore the area’s rich habitats of Rivers, plains, acacia woodland, and kopjes from the great sighting of lion, leopard, and cheetah. The Sorenera valley is one of the best places in Africa to see lions with the lion project here the second-longest wildlife research in the world, and the leopard sighting is excellent. The Namiri plains offer excellent lions, cheetah, jackals, and hyena sightings, the area is also home to elephants, hippos, giraffes, baboons, heartbeats, and Grant and Thomson’s gazelle. Our camp is situated in a high game viewing area where wildlife viewing starts from your doorstep,

Day 6:

Full-day Serengeti (Central)

Today you go on a morning and afternoon game drive in the famous Serengeti National Park. If you want to spot the Big Five – lion, elephant, leopard, rhino, and buffalo- all in one park, the Serengeti is one of the best places to do so. The abundance of wildlife in this park is unmatched anywhere else in Africa. Depending on which time of the year you visit this park, you can also witness the Great Migration. It’s an impressive experience to see all those hoofed mammals, followed by iconic predators, migrate in a clockwise circle every year. In the late afternoon, you will continue to Serengeti Serengeti Heritage luxury camp for dinner and overnight.

Day 7:

Karatu to Tarangire National Park.

After breakfast, you will make a short drive to Tarangire National Park. Tarangire is well known for its large elephant herds. From the open roof of the vehicle, you will experience the seasonal swamps, savanna, and Tarangire River in search of many animals including zebra, wildebeest, buffalo, elephant, and giraffe. It’s possible that you will catch a glimpse of a lion stalking its prey or leopards watching and relaxing in the trees above. After lunch in the park, you will return to Arusha where your safari ends.
