Day 1:

Dar es Salaam-Nyerere National Park.

You leave Dar es, Salaam, after breakfast with a picnic lunch packed safely away, the journey takes you through a panoramic tour of Tanzania’s rural landscape, as your guide heads for Nyerere National Park, the least visited reserve on the itinerary, but one capable of delivering fantastic game viewing. Upon arrival, check into your accommodation at Africa Safari camp, which is a paradisiacal retreat, located close to the entrance of the Nyerere national park and the Rufiji River is within walking distance. After embarking on a boat safari to explore the Rufiji River and its lakes. From the boat, you will spot a lot of animals that come to the water to drink or to cool down. Very commonly seen are giraffes, impalas, waterbucks, kudus, warthogs and sometimes bathing elephants. You will enjoy the sunset on your boat cruise, with amazing, great views, and the sounds of birds. The boat tour is highly recommended and is the easiest way to get as close to the animals as possible.

Day 2 - 3:

Full Days Nyerere National Park (Selous Game Reserve)

“Two days exploring the land of the mighty Rufiji River”
These two days will be spent entirely on game viewing through the park exploring the park’s vast habitats and landscape up to the Rufiji River, it’s the least visited reserve on the itinerary, but one capable of delivering fantastic game viewing. Home to Tanzania’s awe-inspiring wild dog sighting. Nyerere national park formerly (Selous game reserve) is the world’s largest wildlife reserve and is Tanzania’s best-kept Big 4 secret. The Selous offers a wide range of habitats to explore from grassland savannah to floodplains, and miombo woodland and is home to a multitude of plains game, elephant, lion, leopard, buffalo, giraffe, and buffalo, at Nyerere national park, you have the unique opportunity of leaving your vehicle – perhaps to approach a placid elephant herd undetected or to simply discover what is around the next river bend on a boat.

Day 4:

Selous Game Reserve — Mikumi National Park

Today you will start with a walking safari on the edge of Nyerere national park, the walking safari is another way of exploring these pristine wild areas on foot escorted by an armed park ranger, we will be looking for small things which we always miss while in the car like animal tracks, animal droppings, and medicinal plants. After heading to the camp for brunch and then proceeding to Mikumi for dinner, and overnight.

Day 5:

Full Day Mikumi National Park

In the morning after breakfast, you will have a full-day game viewing in the park. The Mikumi floodplain is the main feature of the park along with the bordering mountain ranges. Animals commonly found here include lions, elands, hartebeest, buffalos, wildebeest, giraffes, zebras, hippos, and elephants. The Mikumi elephant mainly grazers and does not cause damage to trees.

Day 6:

Mikumi National Park – Ruaha National Park

“Three days exploring wondering nature”
Leaving Mikumi National Park after a relaxed breakfast we drive to Ruah national park which is 274 km, a packed lunch sustains you on the way, you pass via Iringa town, passing through the countryside which has nice scenery and beautiful valleys and mountains. Upon arriving in Iringa, you will Visit the museum which holds the head of the great local chief Mkwawa who resisted the Germans in Iringa town, then drive to your accommodation –Ruah hilltop lodge – Nestled on the slopes of the Ideremle Mountain, which has breathtaking panoramic views overlooking vast savannah plains. The lodge is a mere 15 km from the gate of Ruaha National Park which has some of Tanzania’s richest concentrations of animals, birds, and plant life, from here you will experience a truly Tanzanian safari.

Day 7 - 8:

Full days Ruah National Park.

The two days will be used to explore Ruaha national park, which is the second largest national park in Tanzania, but it gets far fewer tourists. The Great Ruaha River flows through the park and is the most important river in the park. Since it has a huge population of African elephants, chances are very good to spot large groups of them roaming around. It is also home to great mammals like kudu, sable, and roan antelopes which cannot be found in any other national park. Many zebras, elands, crocodiles, impalas, bat-eared foxes, and jackals live in the park as well as nearly 10% of Africa’s lion population! Other animals to spot here include leopards, cheetahs, and giraffes and with a bit of luck, you may also see the endangered wild dogs!

Day 9:

Full days Ruah National Park.

After breakfast, you will have a short game drive in Ruaha, with a picnic lunch packed safely away the journey takes you through a panoramic tour of Tanzania’s rural landscape, as your guide heads back to Dar es Salaam, and you will be dropped at the airport or your hotel of stay.
