DAY 6- 8: Ngorongoro highlands—Serengeti national park.

Three days exploring Serengeti central and western (corridor)

The final stop on your Tanzanian wilderness tour is none other than the iconic Serengeti. You’ll be ending your trip off with a bang in one of Africa’s premier safari destinations. And, if you’re here between May and July, you may get the chance to see one of nature’s greatest spectacles: the Wildebeest Migration.

Your accommodation Mbalagate camp-lies in the western corridor of the Serengeti National Park, on the Mwamveni hill with a breathtaking panoramic view of the Serengeti plains and the Mbalageti River.

Here, you’ll have three full days, one of the days you will make your way to the Grumeti River and search for the 18-20 feet crocodile, the area is home to black and white colobus monkeys, lion, cheetah, eland, topi, giraffe and hundreds of hippos. On our third day make your way to the central Serengeti for up-close to the big cats who lord the plains and here the rewards are always very high, traverse the rugged landscape in search of the immense wildlife roaming the area, including cheetahs, leopard, and elephant. You may even see a lion perched atop the nearby Maasai Kopjes’ granite boulders, scanning the plains for their next meal. And, of course, if you plan your trip just right, Mbalagate camp is on the migratory route, providing front-row seats to the annual migration of wildebeest and zebra as they go in search of better grazing and water.

On your way to Serengeti, you may opt to visit the world-famous archaeological site of Olduvai Gorge, also known as the Cradle of Mankind. The earliest remains of Homo sapiens were discovered here by Mary Leaky, and anyone with an interest in humankind’s ancestors will be fascinated by this extraordinary place. Explore the quaint little museum and marvel at the rugged landscape. This pale anthropological site in the western of Ngorongoro crater is a steep-sided ravine composed of two branches that have a combined length of about 50 km and are 90 meters deep. Deposits exposed in the sides of the gorge cover have yielded a treasure trove of fossil remains.
