Begin with the beauty of Tarangire with its great sighting of elephants, and its famous tree python before moving on to encounter the spectacle of the Ngorongoro Crater floor, home to Africa’s Big 5. The sweeping plains of the Serengeti provide a backdrop for the tour, game viewing is superb all year round, but if you have timed your safari with the wildebeest migration, you can expect massed herds and plenty of predator action. Finish your tour in the breathtaking Ruah away from daily life as you relax in the heart of the Tanzanian wilderness. Day by Day.

Day 1: Arrive at Kilimanjaro International airport.

Welcome to Tanzania, meet your guide for the drive to Kibo palace hotel. Tucked away in Arusha, Kibo Palace Hotel is straddled between the gateway to some of the most enchanting safari destinations and Mount Kilimanjaro, whose highest point it is named after. This little paradise comes with all the amenities and access you would expect in a modern city right in the wild. After settling into your room, take a walk around the town of Arusha and experience life in real Africa style or relax on the poolside.

Day 2-3: Tarangire National Park

Leaving Kibo palace hotel after a relaxed breakfast we drive west passing some Maasai villages as your guide gives the orientation of Tanzania people and culture, before long you enter Lake Manyara national park. Nestled under the Great Rift Valley is a small game area with the biggest diversity of habitat than the big Serengeti national park, arrive at your camp “Lake Manyara tortilla camp”, settle in for two nights, enjoying morning and afternoon game drives plus exciting night drives. A spectacular part of Africa’s Great Rift Valley, Lake Manyara’s rich variety of natural habitats are set around the soda lake, itself a haven for clouds of flamingos and other water birds. This is a paradise for birding enthusiasts! The forested valleys and open savannah plains support a large elephant population as well as giraffe, buffalo, and many antelope species. There are fewer predators but topping the list are Lake Manyara’s lions, famous for their habit of climbing trees.

Day 4-5: Tarangire national park –Ngorongoro highlands.

Two days exploring Ngorongoro conservation area

Leaving Tarangire, you gain altitude as you are driven north and into the Ngorongoro Highlands. A packed lunch sustains you on the way, and before long you check into Bougainvillea safari lodge, an eco-friendly lodge located in Karatu town. After Settling you can enjoy yourself by swimming at the pool or relax at the poolside and enjoy the bird’s songs. The next day you sit back on a full day drive in the crater itself, you will drive into the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and down into the Ngorongoro Crater. Grass steppes, acacia forests, Rivers, swamps and Magadi Lake is home to almost all the species of animals found in the East African savannah. In only a few hours, you have the chance of spotting four of the big five – lion, Elephant, Buffalo, and Rhino. After extensive game viewing and a picnic in the crater, you will leave the Ngorongoro Crater in the afternoon and travel back to Karatu to spend another night at Bougainvillea Safari Lodge.

Day 6- 7: Ngorongoro highlands—Serengeti national park.

Two days exploring Serengeti central and western (corridor)

The final stop on your northern Tanzanian wilderness tour is none other than the iconic Serengeti. You’ll be ending your trip off with a bang in one of Africa’s premier safari destinations. And, if you’re here between May and July, you may get the chance to see one of nature’s greatest spectacles: the Wildebeest Migration. 

 Serengeti Serena lodge is an intimate, permanent lodge parched on the woodlands of the central Serengeti ‘roughing it’ in the African wild an absolute joy. Here, you’ll have two full days, one of the days you will make your way to the Grumeti River and search for the 18-20 feet crocodile, the area is home to black and white colobus monkeys, lion, cheetah, eland, topi, giraffe and hundreds of hippos. On our third day make your way to the central Serengeti for up-close of the big cats who lord the plains and here the rewards are always very high, traverse the rugged landscape in search of the immense wildlife roaming the area, including cheetahs, leopard, and elephant. You may even see a lion perched atop the nearby Maasai Kopjes’ granite boulders, scanning the plains for their next meal. And, of course, if you plan your trip just right, Burudika Serengeti camp is on the migratory route, providing front-row seats to the annual migration of wildebeest and zebra as they go in search of better grazing.

Day 8-10: Serengeti National park –Ruah National Park.

After breakfast, you will be driven to the airstrip for your morning flight to Ruaha National Park, a flight of approximately 2 hours. Enticing journeys guide will meet you and game-drive you through this very different park, arriving at the Ruah River lodge for lunch. Settle in here, and enjoy views overlooking the great Ruah River and elephants coming down to drink enjoy your time with a beer, before going on an afternoon game drive, exploring the sandy riverbeds looking for elephants as they dig for water or leopards hiding in the rocky kopjes. The three days will be used to explore this undiscovered park by vehicle, foot, and fly fishing. Ruaha’s varied terrain is home to a wide variety of wildlife including large herds of buffalo, hippo, more unusual antelope species such as sable and lesser kudu, and — if you are really lucky — wild dog, which roams huge distances each day in search of their next meal, making sightings impossible to predict.

11 Day: Fly Ruaha To Dar Es Salaam.

You’ll have a final breakfast at Ruaha River lodge before a drive to the airstrip for your late-morning flight to Dar es Salaam. The flight will likely stop a couple of times on the way to drop off/pick up passengers, and the total journey will be approximately 2 hours. You will land at the domestic terminal and the airline will help you transfer the short distance to the international terminal, where you can check-in for your international flight home.

Meal Plan: Breakfast & Lunch.
