Day by Day.

Day 1: Arusha –Tarangire national park.

“One day exploring Tarangire”

You leave Arusha after breakfast with a picnic lunch packed safely away. The Rift Valley landscape drifts past as your guide heads for Tarangire National Park, the least visited reserve on the itinerary but one capable of delivering fantastic game viewing. Home to Tanzania’s biggest elephant population, Tarangire supports large numbers of buffalo, giraffe, zebra, and many antelope species, most evident during the dry season when concentrations of animals at the life-giving Tarangire River are at their peak. Your accommodation Tarangire Safari Lodge –lies on the heart of the corridor of animals going down to drink water in the Tarangire River, and a corridor to the elephants when they are moving out of the park. From here you will explore the park’s rich habitat for two days, and during the months of June-October, the park burst into life as all the migratory wildebeest, zebra, kudu, Oryx, and eland are called by the life-giving Tarangire River.

Day 2-3: Tarangire National Park—Ngorongoro Highlands

Leaving the lodge after a relaxed breakfast we drive north passing some Maasai villages as your guides gives the orientation of Tanzania people and culture, before long you will reach the village of Mto WA MBU. This village is unique in Tanzania since it is home to over 120 different tribes from across Tanzania and forms a colorful mix of languages and customs. Your walking guide will take you to rice and banana plantations, a local beer factory, and a carving factory. Discover the traditional way of life of the villagers, followed by a local lunch, then proceed to the lodge- Your Accommodation Marera valley-lies in the heart of a rich farming area, and boasts a lovely country setting with beautiful landscaping.

The next day after breakfast enter Lake Manyara national park. Nestled under the Great Rift Valley is a small game area with, the biggest diversity of habitat than the big Serengeti national park. A spectacular part of Africa’s Great Rift Valley, Lake Manyara’s rich variety of natural habitats are set around the soda lake, itself a haven for clouds of pink flamingos and other water birds. This is a paradise for birding enthusiasts! The forested valleys and open savannah plains support a large elephant population as well as giraffe, buffalo, and many antelope species. There are fewer predators but topping the list are Lake Manyara’s lions, famous for their habit of climbing trees.

Day 4: The Ngorongoro Crater – Serengeti national park.

We start the day before sunrise following the crater rim to the descent road, enjoying the sunrise over the crater as we drive down to the crater floor arriving before the crowds and while the wildlife is most active. We start our game drive in the world’s largest UN flooded caldera, intact and unfilled volcanic caldera formed when a large volcano exploded and collapsed on itself two to three million years ago. The crater floor covers 265 square miles with steep walls measuring 600 meters. Not only do we find this amazing geographic feature but it has become a bit of a trap, with a massive population of wildlife that has stumbled into the crater, which today is estimated to be nearly 30,000 large animals, including buffalo, elephant, zebra, wildebeest, hyena, hippo, lions, ostrich, and other antelope. We enjoy lunch near the hippo pool of Ngoitokitok Spring, before driving out of the crater through the highlands and out onto the Serengeti plains where we find our camp.

Day 5-6: Exploring the Serengeti National Park.

“Two days exploring Serengeti”

Spend the two days exploring this wonderful park for the magnificent big cats sighting, from the valleys, swamps, mammoth kopjes, and plains – a famous migration corridor and UNESCO World Heritage site. Here, you’ll have a chance to witness the great migration of wildebeest and zebra. Depending on the time of the year, the migration is within the southern grass plains and the central part during the months of December-May. Within these two days, we will explore the park rich habitats for the big cats who rule the plains, Serengeti is home to lion, leopard, hippos, cheetah, giraffe, elands, warthog, and hyrax. The plains are dotted with mammoth rock out-crop, swamps, valleys, acacia tree lines, and River-line habitats, in the central part, marking game-viewing good throughout the year.  Our campsite is set in the central part giving us perfect movement for game viewing. Day 7-8: Serengeti National Park—Lake Victoria.

You leave Serengeti Heritage camp after breakfast with a picnic lunch packed safely away. The rolling hills of the Serengeti landscape drift past as your guide heads for the western corridor, the least visited area of the Serengeti National Park, but one capable of delivering fantastic game viewing. Home to Africa 18-20 feet crocodiles, the western corridor supports large numbers of buffalo, giraffe, zebra, and many antelope species, most evident during the dry season when concentrations of animals at the life-giving Grumeti River are at their peak. Your accommodation – Serenity lodge – located outside Serengeti National Park on the Lake Shores of Lake Victoria.

The next day embark on a gloriously diverse range of exciting things to do, you have a full day, at your leisure, to engage with thrilling wildlife, embark on an exciting fishing safari in a traditional canoe, and catch your own scrumptious giant Nile perch for dinner, or simply stroll along the lakeshore marveling at the beautiful expanse, or simply absorb the lush landscapes. Bustling villages dot the shores of Lake Victoria, and the daily activities include fishing and trading in Nile Perch and Tilapia.

Day 9: Serenity lodge-Mwanza Airport.

You leave Serenity lodge after breakfast with a picnic lunch packed safely away, and drive to Mwanza for your flight to Dar es Salaam/ Kilimanjaro and connect with your onwards arrangement.
